Since welcoming a Hobie back into the family, I’ve been keen to dip my toes back into kayak fishing events. The only problem is, we only have one kayak between us and that creates a slight problem when Carl and I both want to joint the fun. There’s a round coming up at St George’s Basin which is just a hop, skip, and a jump from where we’re currently calling home, so it feels like the perfect opportunity to dip my toes back in.
I’ve been a regular listener of the Bream Fishing Projectpodcast and several times, host Andrew Death has suggested they would like be able to help more women to get involved, so I reached out to him. Andrew and Hobie have arranged to set me up with a kayak for the weekend and I couldn’t be more excited!
Hobie fishing competitions are known for their fun and competitive atmosphere. As well as the overall field, I’ll be competing in the women category. Three of us are entered so far.
Hopefully this will be just the first of many events to come and I look forward to sharing a report from the event soon!
You’ll be able to tune in to the Live weigh-in event on Saturday and Sunday February 24 – 25 on the Hobie Fishing Asia Pacific’s Facebook Page
